The Baltimore Ravens have been ravaged by injuries in 2015. Franchise quarterback Joe Flacco tore his ACL, veteran wide receiver Steve Smith went down with a torn Achilles, stud pass rusher Terrell Suggs was lost for the year in week one and even starting running back Justin Forsett broke his arm. It’s been a disastrous season, and somehow Baltimore may have made it even worse in week 15.
Perhaps because of the rough season – one in which the Ravens were picked by many to be Super Bowl contenders – the team decided to add a little flare by providing custom football uniforms this past weekend. Regardless of the motivation, it didn’t really work out too well.
SB Nation took a look at it themselves in hilarious fashion, and they point out the obvious: just, why?
Again, it was probably all meant well, but Baltimore inexplicably added mustard yellow pants to their uniform and it simply clashed with their usual purple jerseys. Black pants? Well, yeah, that’s what they usually wear. A purple on purple scheme? In the name of Color Rush, we could all appreciate that. A black on black scheme? That’s been done before and would have been welcomed.
But this? Yeah, the Ravens missed the mark here, and SB Nation really isn’t out of line by pointing it out. Hopefully the Ravens go back to their normal look for the final two regular season games, because they’re 0-1 with this disastrous take and Ravens fans have to hope it stays that way.
