NBA 2K16 Fans Can Enjoy Christmas Uniforms in Time For Holidays

NBA game and new uniform

A few weeks ago we documented that the NBA would be issuing new Christmas Day uniforms. The custom basketball uniforms had undergone a bit of an overhaul, where they league ditched the tight sleeves and nicknames and instead opted for a more traditional, retro look. As it turns out, the league’s holiday gift-giving doesn’t stop in the real world.

Per reports, fans of the NBA 2K16 video game will be graced with the very same Christmas uni’s. A new update for the popular NBA video game will allow all 30 teams (even the ones not actually playing on Christmas Day this year) their own Christmas uniforms. Fans should be able to access the jerseys in all game modes, but the patch does not apply to already existing leagues. Anyone wanting to see the new Christmas NBA uniforms in their league would have to start a new game mode in order to use them.

NBA 2K16 isn’t stopping at just the new NBA Christmas Day uni’s, either, as they’ve also added three new shoes to their arsenal. Fans can pay up to land the new digs on their MyPlayer game mode. NBA 2K16 also took the time during this latest update to address numerous bugs and corruptions in the online system for various modes.

The recent overhaul is just in time for the holiday season, which both promotes an enhanced user experience for die hard NBA 2K16 gamers that already own the game, and also gives the franchise a mild boost as an improved product to purchase during Christmas.

If you’re not a fan of the game or simply don’t own/play it, you can catch the special Christmas Day NBA uniforms in real life when a select few NBA squads go to battle on December 25th.
