We already touches on the NFL’s new Color Rush promotion last week, but on Thursday night, it actually finally arrives. Yahoo got a sneak peek of the sweet custom football uniforms the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets will be gracing on prime time television, in a game that was already going to be about as hyped as any week 10 NFL matchup.
The hype only grows louder now that both teams will be opting for the color on color scheme, which takes their bold team colors and gives fans a fun visual upgrade. The Bills could have gone in one of two directions, as they use white, blue and red colors. For the Color Rush scheme, they are going away from their usual blue to a bold red, which could really spice up an already heated matchup.
Rex Ryan heads back to the Meadowlands to face his former team for the first time since being relieved of his duties last year. Ryan took over the Bills this past summer and said he was going to make Buffalo into a group of “bullies”. He also declared that his spot as head coach of the Bills would be his last stop in the league. How long that lasts and how successful the Bills will be against the Jets on TNF, no one knows.
We know the Jets will be just as colorful, though, as they’re going all in on their bold green jerseys, which will be featured on both their jerseys and pants. Take a look and see the proposed color blast for yourself.
The cool thing is that this was going to be an intense rivalry game, no matter what. The 5-3 Jets and 4-4 Bills both are probably dead in the AFC East with the 8-0 New England Patriots ahead of them, so they’re basically battling it out for a wild card spot at this point. Throw in the Rex Ryan revenge factor and even the Ryan Fitzpatrick revenge factor (used to play for the Bills), and this game has hype for days.
It was already going to be a game worth watching, but the cool uniform change-up definitely adds to the allure.
