5 Worst Performing MLB Uniforms of 2015

5 worst MLB uniforms of 2015

We recently detailed the landscape of the most successful MLB uniforms in 2015 by breaking down a top-5 list that showcases the top MLB uniforms that happened to be worn the most when teams won games in 2015. This time we spin it around and ponder what a “bad uniform” could look like as we break down the five worst performing baseball uniforms in Major League Baseball this year.

Not so surprisingly, the five uniforms that finished the best in 2015 belonged to teams either locked in for the MLB playoffs or at least very much in the mix. The bottom five? Our guess would be it wouldn’t include a single playoff contender and that a few of the uniforms would be at least somewhat questionable. We would have been wrong.

Thanks to SportsLogos.net, we know the exact top five MLB uniforms that graded out the worst in 2015: the Dodgers, Blue Jays, Athletics, Rockies and Braves.

Hey, we were close! L.A. and Toronto are two of the best teams in all of baseball and are definitely going to the playoffs, yet they ranked second to last and last with their cream grey road jerseys. Those custom baseball uniforms didn’t work out too well for them despite looking pretty sweet, but they were far from the worst performing uni’s. Coming in dead last was the Oakland Athletics with their awesome yellow alternate jerseys, while the Braves’ navy blue alternate jersey and the Rockies’ alternate blake uniforms were third to last.

Toronto wore their cream alternate jerseys 31 times and ended up losing 21 times (32% win percentage), but that was actually quite strong compared to everyone else in this list, as no other jersey had better than a 29% win percentage (Dodgers). The two best teams with the two best uniforms in terms of winning? Right, not too shocking.

Oakland was by far the worst, however, as they won just three of 17 games when wearing their bold yellow alternate jerseys. The saddest part? One could make the case that the A’s yellow jerseys are the best looking uniforms in this list. Heck, maybe even all of baseball.

It’s an unfortunate stat for all five teams, really, as these are actually some of the better looking MLB uniforms you’ll find in the league. That being said, we can probably bet the team analytics guy will be suggesting to ditch some of these jerseys from the yearly rotation.

Which losing uniform would you ditch from the rotation? Tell us in the comments below!
