There’s nothing like a sharp-dressed baseball team when it comes to MLB. It’s like George Costanza once said about the New York Yankees uniforms – “cotton breathes” – in reference to switching from polyester uniforms to cotton uniforms. The Yanks did look good on their first try of the uniforms, but later the fabric shrunk and that trial with custom baseball uniforms ended badly.
That was just the feel of the uniforms, though. New York still has one of the more timeless (yet moder) looks in all of baseball, that even non-Yankees fans can come to appreciate. They’re not the only one, either. Let’s take a look at five MLB teams that arguably have the cleanest, sharpest and possibly even coolest uniforms in baseball today:
5 Best MLB Uniforms
New York Yankees
I’m sorry, but we’re not sorry. The Yanks kick off our favorite MLB uniforms because they’re as timeless as it gets. They’re the only team that really makes the pinstripes work (sorry, White Sox) and their solid grey alternates aren’t too shabby, either. The Yanks know how to do vintage and modern, all in one, and as much as some may hate them for their winning and loaded rosters, it’s hard to hate how they look on a daily basis.
Los Angeles Angels
What’s cooler that a halo around an A? Not much, as the Angels live up to their moniker with little effort, and even add to it when the Angels are decked out in their red uniforms. They have just the right amount of edge to go with a cool logo and one of the best players in baseball – Mike Trout.
Washington Nationals
Maybe it’s because Bryce Harper is such a beast, but few MLB uniforms feel as edgy and put together as Nationals jerseys. The logo is big and bold and doesn’t dominate the uniform, while the lining down the middle of the jersey gives off a new age look. The Nats are one of the best examples of paying homage to the past while also keeping an eye to the future (and present).
Kansas City Royals
Kansas City is not just one of the best teams in baseball this year – they’re also among the best dressed. Much like the Dodgers, the Royals know how to put cursive to good use, as the “Royals” text across their jersey is just the right shade of blue and all kinds of awesome. The white and blue go together perfectly, while giving the Royals the perfect balance between an old school and modern feel.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Does anyone keep it more old school that the Dodgers? The days of Brooklyn can be felt with their sharp, blue cursive across the chest, while the blue and white is a never-dying combo that everyone can appreciate. Some MLB uniforms get tired and boring, but the days of Jackie Robinson still live on with today’s Dodgers uniforms. That’s a good thing.
